I would like to introduce myself...

I've been told that the first blog is always the hardest. I hope so! Well here goes...

My name is Kitty Felis and I'm about to share everything with you, things I love and things I hate with you, from the extraordinary, everyday and embarrassing to the weird and wonderful about my life.

The problem is where to start? Definitely not from the beginning... OK, let's go!

This week I've decided to make a few changes, like this blog, that I've been meaning to make for ages. I think every now and again you need to take a step back and ask yourself if you are really getting what you want from life. I realised recently that despite my best attempts to give the excuse 'I'm too busy' that I'm not having enough adventures. I'm not talking about going to Bangkok or spending my summers picking grapes in France and my winters being a chalet girl (wouldn't get away with that one now anyway) in Austria. I just want to have adventures in the most normal and mundane of circumstances.

This week...

The Women's Institute- Inspiring Women
Ok, I know! I've always turned my nose up at the very thought of the WI declaring them as snotty busy bodies but recently I stumbled on a group of 'these' women that were not only diverse and exciting individuals but were having fun without an ounce of jam making in sight. So I'm going to give it a go! Eeeek, if you see me wearing a pinny with pearls and voting conservative come save me!

Finishing My Degree at The Open University
Some time ago I left university to move and start a new job. All I remember about university really is drinking and having no money. I wasn't even happy with my choice of course. At the time it had just begun to feel wrong! I think you go when you are younger because that's what you are meant to do and I don't agree with this. It's such a huge decision to ask a 17 year old to make. Now I'm a little older I've realised that there are things that I would like to study to further my career so I'm going back! But this time it's on my terms...watch this space!

My Coveted List!

I do love clothes and all things that can be purchased with that magic plastic. You know the feeling I'm talking about. You take it to the till, they ring it up as your palms sweat and you intake sharply with that feeling of excitement that you get as a child on your birthday or at Christmas. So I'll be sharing my wish list and recent purchases with you from time to time but not all of them as my Manchild may read it and find out that I keep new shoes in a secret cavity under the bed!

 Smudge Animal Print Pencil Dress
£60, Topshop

I love this dress! I'm really into longer length dresses at the moment, pencil, maxi or midi. Plus they are perfect for this time of year when the cold nights are creeping in and you don't want to wait for a taxi with legs that resemble a plucked chicken. I'm going to rock this with chunky black leather ankle boots or delicate gina-esque red jeweled peep toes. Ooh the possibilities are endless!

All I Want For Christmas is a...
Lancome Advent Calender
£80, Selfridges

This is the time of year that I start to get excited for Christmas. Everything about it is wonderful from the glamorous outfits you feel you can wear to the supermarket just because it's Christmas to the shopping, street lights and friendly feeling everyone gets. When I saw this I felt like I was 6 again only with an edge of opulence that Lion King pyjamas can't quite give you. Counting the days til December 1st!!!

Well that's all for now but come back next week for my Twixmas plans, teaching jewellery making classes and the hazards and dangers of dining and drinking with work colleagues.
